City planning staff provided a brief update on the draft 6th‑cycle Housing Element, a required component of the General Plan that identifies housing needs and policies for all income levels. Senior Planner Sandra Robles told the commission the draft is lengthy and will be presented in full at the Jan. 21, 2026 meeting; the planning commission was asked to receive and file the document during the current review period.
Commissioners thanked staff and noted the scope of the document and the work required to comply with state housing law. No formal action was required at the Dec. 17 meeting.
