Staff presented a project estimate of about $1,910,000 including engineering, permits, testing, staking and a 10% contingency. All project costs will be funded from the Park Development Tax Fund (Fund 228); staff emphasized no general-fund money will be used and a budget amendment to appropriate $1.9 million from fund reserves was required and proposed.
Council asked whether drawings were available; staff confirmed approved construction drawings exist. A public question asked whether irrigation would use potable water; staff said irrigation will use non-potable recycled/well water for system irrigation and domestic water will be provided for the drinking fountain. Council approved the award and appropriation; the roll-call result included four yes votes and one abstention.
