Danville council approves annexations, temporary easement and $1.1 million claims docket

A separate resolution and ordinance were presented for property at 535 (address referenced) and Ordinance 22 20 25 was moved and approved for adoption of annexation. Council approved each motion by voice vote; recorded outcomes were carried and reflected as 4-0 motions.
Temporary easement: Staff explained a temporary ingress/egress easement for property deeded by Doctor Horton to allow maintenance access; the easement will terminate automatically when a permanent ingress/egress curve is constructed on the parcel’s opposite side. Mister Kirby moved to approve the easement and authorize Town Manager Mister Morgan to execute it; Mister Gerald seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
Claims docket: Council approved the claims docket in the amount of $1,096,493.55 on a motion by Mister Berg and a second by Mister Gerald; the vote was recorded as Aye and the motion carried.
Other business: Council noted an upcoming public hearing for voluntary annexation of properties on East Main Street and recalled an ordinance introduced at the Sept. 17 meeting to prohibit recorded records requests for commercial use; those items will follow the normal hearing and notice processes.
