The Danville Town Council opened its meeting by recognizing Olivia Slavens, a 22-year-old Danville resident who was crowned the 2025 national Miss Amazing junior-division winner. Mister Morgan introduced Slavens and said she ‘‘starred’’ in a My Time to Shine production and ‘‘competes in track and basketball’’ with Special Olympics. Slavens said she was ‘‘so glad’’ her mother signed her up for the program and that serving as Miss Amazing ‘‘has given me an opportunity to continue to develop my accounts and gain new skills and friends.’’
Shortly afterward the council swore in a new part-time police officer, Kim Kirishiko. Kirishiko, introduced by town staff, recounted prior experience as a school resource officer and reserve officer in the Brownsburg area and said she is ‘‘ready to give back’’ and to perform both road and school duties. The council offered brief thanks and applause for the two presentations.
The recognitions and the swearing-in were ceremonial and did not require council votes. The council moved on to its business agenda after the presentations.
