Council approves ordinance to allow new Class B incidental tobacco license for Aman Food and Gas

Mister Atkins explained the applicants had previously held a tobacco license but did not renew timely and therefore must request authorization for a new license. Atkins noted the location near the central store and said the applicants "are aware that they will not be eligible for a liquor license" because of distance restrictions from other liquor outlets. Mister Schmidt moved to approve the ordinance; Alderperson Castro seconded. The motion carried with a recorded count of 4 ayes and 1 nay.
The ordinance creates a new slot for a Class B incidental tobacco dealer in the city’s licensing scheme at the specified location; distance-based liquor-license restrictions will continue to apply.
