Cara, owner of Atlas Collective, accepted the business award and described the project as a small volunteer-driven effort: "We have, like, the tiniest square on Earth in the corner... my husband, Jordan, and I just kinda were winging it. It turned out beautiful. I'm honored, so thank you for having me tonight." The council also recognized Dr. Chris Strunk, Olivia Bizob and Hamdiya Hamadu of Augustana College for a partnership with Renew Moline to maintain a pollinator garden by Old National Bank.
The awards highlight ongoing volunteer contributions and local partnerships aimed at increasing pollinator habitat downtown. No formal council action was required; the presentation concluded before the council moved on to other agenda items.
