Chief academic staff described recent professional development sessions and said materials were scheduled for delivery to schools starting Monday, Dec. 15, weather permitting. The presentation described a multi‑step rollout: training for principals and teachers, building unpacking and three‑hour on‑site preparations, and ongoing instructional support through learning communities and early‑release professional development days.
Dr. Rocio Trejo, director for multilingual and multicultural education, outlined instructional design for bilingual programs and said the district will follow the textbook adoption policy for the ELA materials; an RFP and committee review were described as forthcoming. Staff said principals performed walk‑throughs to ensure schools ordered needed student materials and that recordings and follow‑up support for principals are available.
The administration said it will continue to provide updates and to finalize adoption steps and timelines in coordination with principals and academic leaders.
