Committee removes student participation requirement from ZS architectural engineering contract

Chasen said the office generally seeks to maximize student opportunities but noted that certain dollar thresholds govern when such requirements apply.
Director Zombor moved to replace the contract’s existing student and career education requirements with 0%. Committee members asked clarifying questions about thresholds and intent; Matt Jason Ollie (administration) confirmed the RFP did not reach the threshold that would require those contractor obligations. The roll call showed four ayes and the motion was adopted.
The committee’s action affects only the specific ZS architectural engineering contract under consideration and does not change broader district policy about student employment on larger contracts.
