Oak Lawn announces Halloween decorating-contest winners

Trustee Pella announced the results of Oak Lawn’s third annual Halloween decorating contest at the Nov. 11 Board of Trustees meeting. Judges from the Arts & Events Commission and partner Midnight Terror tallied scores and selected three winners: third place — the Meyer family ("Nightmare Village," 9711 South MacVicar); second place — the Merkel family ("Hills of Unrest," 8836 South 501st Avenue); and first place — the Davalos family ("Yard of the Dead," 10920 South Keeler).
Trustee Pella thanked volunteers and noted that favorable weather helped residents achieve elaborate displays. Winners were asked to come forward to receive their awards and photographs at the meeting.
