Alliant: Glendale Heights insurance renewal shows market pressure; village program premium near $966,637

Leah Cozad of Alliant Insurance Services presented the village's 2025–26 property, liability and workers' compensation renewal at the Nov. 20 meeting, summarizing marketplace conditions and impacts on premium costs.
Cozad said carriers are constrained, valuations of buildings are more strictly scrutinized, and excess liability and law-enforcement liability markets continue to see rate increases. She reported the village's carrier, Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust, allowed a cap near 10% on premium increases; the village's negotiations and supplemental loss-control documentation produced a net program increase in the neighborhood of 8%–9.3%. Cozad stated the total program premium for the village's package — covering property, liability, cyber, employee-dishonesty and a volunteer blanket accidental policy — is $966,637.
Board members asked no substantive follow-ups during the public presentation. Cozad described the volunteer accidental policy as covering volunteers' medical expenses if injured while volunteering for the village.
