Chandler council approves consent agenda and recognizes Digital Cities award; annexation briefing given

The Chandler City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda at the Dec. 11 regular meeting, adopting a motion that added a buyer disclosure to one subdivision condition about adjacency to the Seneca Sports Complex and Dog Park.
Earlier in the meeting, Mayor Hartke recognized the City of Chandler as a Digital Cities Award winner for technology, innovation and data‑driven operations. CTO Kirsten Ould introduced the city’s IT, security and planning staff, noting projects such as digital twins, enterprise planning resource system work and privacy initiatives.
In a separate public hearing, city planner Taylor Madamund presented Annexation ANX 25‑0003, an 11.24‑acre parcel east of the NE corner of Willis and McQueen slated for initial AG‑1 city zoning and a forthcoming rezone and preliminary plan for a 57‑lot single‑family subdivision by Richmond American Homes. Staff reported that departments had no negative comments and the hearing was closed with no public questions.
The council also read dozens of written public comment cards during the meeting, and several members reminded speakers about decorum and the two‑minute public comment time limits. The meeting concluded after the council handled unscheduled public appearances and a number of council updates.
