Lake Bluff approves settlement to resolve building-code judgment at 1010 Green Bay Road

The Lake Bluff Village Board on Dec. 8 approved a settlement agreement resolving outstanding building-code violations at 1010 Green Bay Road. A 2021 judgment had been entered against owner Trent Weishardt for $89,400; the board authorized a settlement under which Weishardt will pay $52,750 to cover violations, parkway restoration and permit-extension fees.
Village staff reported that Weishardt corrected the life-safety violations and represented the property is under contract for sale. The settlement conditions require receipt of the specified payment (and any required bonds) before the village will release the lien and issue a certificate of occupancy. The board approved the resolution by roll call.
Next steps: upon receipt of payment and bonds the village will release the lien and issue a certificate of occupancy, and the village administrator is authorized to implement the agreement.
