The update, presented at an information session, said turnaround plans approved on June 26 were launched in August and that the schools are now in their fifth year of unacceptable accountability counts — a status that, if the campuses receive an F, could put the district at risk of state action. "If they get an F, yes," a district official said when trustees asked whether a failing rating could trigger broader intervention. Staff described a range of options available under the Education Code, including district-managed restart, partner-managed restart (an '1882' partnership), or closure or reassignment in extreme cases.
