Lake Bluff board approves Ziegler Auto Group sign exemptions for Pagani showroom

The Lake Bluff Village Board on Dec. 8 approved a resolution granting sign-code exemptions and design review for Ziegler Auto Group’s conversion of an existing building at 990 West North Shore Drive to include a Pagani showroom alongside the existing Ferrari Lake Forest facility.
Architect Diana Malecar of Malecar Architects presented renderings showing a modest addition to the west portico, a new pedestrian entrance, a horizontal ground sign complementary to the existing Ferrari totem, and nine additional parking spaces enclosed by an extended iron fence. The Architectural Board of Review recommended approval (vote reported as 5–2–0 at its Dec. 2 meeting).
Trustees asked about exterior lighting and were told there is no additional lighting proposed at this time. The resolution was moved and seconded and adopted by roll call; trustees recorded aye votes and congratulated the applicants.
Next steps: applicant may proceed with the approved design review and the permitted signage consistent with the site plan and the conditions of the board’s approval.
