A Council member (Speaker 4) presented a proposed vision and suggested benchmarks for the executive director position and asked the board to send those to the Civil Service Commission for review. Board members emphasized the need for objective KPIs that measure timely investigation and corrective action after incidents.
Speaker 7 suggested defining performance metrics that emphasize speed of investigation and corrective measures, and Trey and staff said they will provide documentation and collaborate with Daniel and Eric to facilitate a KPI-development process at the December meeting. Trey suggested the KPI process, with facilitation, could proceed through the January meeting and be sent to the Civil Service Commission by around March 1 for review. Members discussed measuring performance on a six-month basis and agreed to submit individual KPI ideas ahead of the next meeting.
No formal KPI policy was adopted at the meeting; staff will bring materials and a facilitated session to a future meeting as part of the board’s implementation plan.
