The Sparks Planning Commission unanimously approved a conditional use permit for a golf-simulator recreation facility at 5318 Sparks Boulevard in the Los Altos Crossing Shopping Center.
Kim Mok, planning technician, presented the request for CU25-0014, explaining the 2,596-square-foot tenant space would house three simulators, have a maximum occupancy of 25, and operate by appointment through a dedicated app. "The 2,596 square foot facility requires 13 parking spaces," Mok said, and staff noted the shopping center currently provides 324 spaces overall.
Mok reviewed the five findings the commission must make under the plan-development handbook (C1–C5), concluding staff could make those findings based on site design, mature landscaping buffers, and the limited, indoor nature of the use. Staff recommended approval with nine conditions, including the appointment-only access restriction that staff said would prevent walk-in access.
No public comments were received at the hearing. Commissioner Rodriguez Elkins moved to approve CU25-0014 based on findings C1–C5 and subject to the nine conditions listed in the staff report; Commissioner Kramer seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The permit is limited to the recreation and sports facility as described in the staff report and is identified in the record as PCN06024 / CU25-0014.
