Danville Junior Football reports 300+ participants amid transition to new facility

Pete Lynch, speaking for Danville Junior Football, said the program has about "just over 300 kids," estimating about 110 in cheer and roughly 190 in football, and described last year’s season and ongoing transition to a new facility. "We got just a little bit of stuff slowed down there, but we're we're about fully transitioned," he said.
Lynch said visitors praised parking and bathroom availability at the new site and that staff are working on seeding and watering plans; he estimated fields would take two to three years to mature. The program currently plays in a local league with teams traveling to and from Lebanon and TriWest and has discussed holding an end-of-season tournament to raise funds.
Board members thanked the program for the partnership with the town and noted continued rock-removal work and maintenance needs as the fields mature. No formal action or vote was taken. Staff and organizers agreed to coordinate further on maintenance schedules and potential fundraising.
