Walton said the county‑level staff also conducts producer outreach, technical assistance and helps shepherd federal and state funds into local projects.
Board members asked routine questions about how widely the newsletter and outreach go; Soil & Water said mailings reach thousands of landowners and that the office helps producers access SRF low‑interest loans for certain structures. The Soil & Water representatives said the county contribution helps pay intern wages and local program continuity.
