The Grand County Economic Development Advisory Board voted unanimously March 26 to adopt four goals to guide its work for the coming year: successfully manage the current grant cycle; complete and seek county endorsement of an actionable economic development strategy tied to the general plan; pursue county capacity to support economic development work; and serve as the county’s hub for coordinating business assistance and grant programs.
The chair said the goals will help prioritize the board’s agenda and inform budget requests for a possible county economic development staff position. Board members suggested tracking staff and volunteer hours to quantify the workload and support any budget request for additional capacity. The board agreed to incorporate the goals into future agendas and to monitor progress at subsequent meetings.
