Don delivered a common council update during the meeting, saying the council had reviewed a broad overview of the budget and would consider final approval at its meeting the following week. “At the last common council meeting, first week in November, we got a broad overview of the budget,” he said.
Don also described an emerging, multi-building initiative the council is calling a community campus: options range from renovating the senior center, library and city hall to tearing them down and building a consolidated facility. He said the project would be expensive and council is planning on-site public meetings to gather community input and expertise.
Don encouraged interested residents to attend forthcoming meetings and participate in the planning process; no formal council decisions on the community campus were recorded during this committee meeting.
