Speaker 1 told the board that two separate water-hauling companies have been taking large quantities of spring water and that the county has received no direct payments for road impacts. "I want a meeting with these people," Speaker 1 said, asking staff for truck counts, gallons hauled and any agreements to offset road damage. BZA representatives said they will meet with a hydrogeologist and that the existing variance does not transfer to a new owner; a rezoning to commercial would be required for continued operations beyond agricultural use.
Planning staff were asked to provide verbatim reports and attendance records from prior meetings and to forward any self-reported haul data the companies filed with the building department. Commissioners said they will review the BZA’s hydrogeological findings and pursue any necessary enforcement or negotiated mitigation for road repairs and taxes if operations require commercial zoning.
