Members of the Faribault High School DECA chapter presented accomplishments and plans to the school board on Nov. 24.
Students Brianna Velasquez Sanchez (vice president), Lexi Berger (president) and Jovilyn Vagnas described a competitive record that includes district champions, district medals, state finalists and international conference qualifiers. The chapter reported 17 students advanced to the state competition last year and several members earned trophies and international-competition qualifications.
Cassie (community education director) described the district's "School Supplies for All" initiative, saying the program served about 1,925 students this year and raised roughly $41,000 in community donations to supply preschool through eighth-grade students. The DECA students outlined goals for 2025'26, including increasing membership, expanding the school store (vendor quotes provided of about $66,000 to $80,000) and more chapter projects to boost engagement.
Board members congratulated the students and encouraged business engagement and continued community partnerships.
