The Community Health and Safety Committee voted to adopt a slate of recommendations to fill 55 vacancies on Kent County boards, commissions and committees. Commissioner Bujak moved to approve agenda item 5A and Commissioner LeGrand supported the motion; the motion passed by voice vote and the item will be transmitted to the full Board of Commissioners for consideration at the Jan. 8 meeting.
Commissioners noted the thorough vetting process: committee teams reviewed roughly 200 applications and interviewed candidates before making recommendations. Commissioner Bujak thanked staff for organizing the materials and commissioners for participating in the lengthy review process. No individual appointment names or commission assignments were announced on the record during the meeting; the committee packet with details was referenced as being in commissioners' meeting materials.
The committee then moved to miscellaneous business and adjourned after holiday remarks. The committee formally adjourned on a motion from Commissioner LeGrand, supported by Commissioner Mraz.
