Dennis‑Yarmouth unveils new district website integrated with ParentSquare

Dennis‑Yarmouth Communications and Community Relations Coordinator Leila Espano and assistant director Joanna Watson demonstrated a newly launched district website during the school committee meeting on Dec. 1.
Espano said the district chose SmartSites, powered by ParentSquare, to centralize communications: content created once can be published to the website, ParentSquare, email, text and social channels. The site includes district and school welcome messages, quick links (lunch menus, calendars), a district calendar that aggregates school calendars, and a new school committee page with meeting archives and agendas.
Joanna Watson demonstrated the calendar features and said school pages will retain distinct color coding to make it easier for families to find school‑specific items. Board members asked about Google search results still linking to the old site; Watson said the team will address search indexing and continue iterative updates.
The new site is intended to support the district's strategic initiative to strengthen communications and provide consistent branding across schools.
