Highlights included a replat (Aldama Estates Replat D) to divide one lot into two; a rezoning at 10752 Melwood Road from R‑1 to R‑2 to allow an existing duplex to remain; a rezoning at 400 Mosher Way (Freedman Estates Unit 2) to allow a duplex; and an item to formalize an existing quadruplex at 366 Tanya Drive via R‑2 zoning and a variance because the structure exceeds the typical three‑unit limit. Planning and Zoning consistently recommended approval on these items (records show several 3–0 votes by the commission), and council approved the second readings or motions to adopt as presented.
Council also approved the rezoning/variance for a 0.383‑acre Burt Road parcel to A‑1 so an allowable storage container can replace a semi‑trailer on the property, following staff direction that the mobile home must be removed if the use changes in the future. Separately, the council granted a conditional‑use permit to allow a mechanic shop in a C‑2 general commercial zoning district at 1110 Visa Road; staff noted the business registered after a code compliance inquiry and discussed follow‑up building and code inspections.
One item — a triplex rezoning at 10371 Manana Drive — was postponed to the Jan. 15 meeting at the request of a resident who arrived but had to leave; council explicitly noted a January schedule change and the desire to allow public participation. Council approved all other planning items by voice vote.
