The Hot Springs Board of Directors unanimously approved a one‑year extension of the city's agreement with High Impact Movement Inc., continuing the afterschool and summer youth program that the city has funded for several years.
Deputy City Manager Lance Speitzer said the extension would run through Dec. 31, 2026, and the contract amount—$125,000—was approved in the 2026 budget. "That is a $125,000 contract request. That would be paid out in equal monthly installments beginning January 1 if the board chooses to approve," Speitzer said.
Speitzer said the agreement retains performance metrics, including an annual program report due Aug. 1 and reviewed financial statements due Dec. 15. He acknowledged recent leadership turnover at the organization and introduced new Executive Director Gina Rockwell, who attended the meeting.
Directors praised the program's work with Hot Springs youth and welcomed the new director. The board adopted Resolution R‑25‑235 to extend the agreement by roll‑call vote.
Speitzer said staff will continue to monitor performance metrics and financial reporting under the contract and will report to the board as required by the agreement.
