In administrative remarks, the presiding officer announced a Salvation Army red-kettle fundraising challenge between Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas at Walmart Supercenters on Saturday (10 a.m.–2 p.m.) and asked for volunteers; the speaker noted a friendly bet between the two mayors involving wearing the other city’s sport coat should their side lose.
