Terrace Park council gives first reading to change how legal notices are posted

The ordinance, read in the first reading by the council member standing in for Mrs. Layman, would amend §10-19(a) to modernize how the village publishes notices and adopted legislation. During discussion, members asked whether the Cincinnati Enquirer or the village’s monthly Village Views would satisfy statutory posting requirements; Solicitor Mr. Forbes said the Enquirer can satisfy certain requirements but noted timing and frequency differences for periodicals. Council members agreed the village will post adopted legislation on the village website and in the administration office and reassess if residents raise concerns.
The ordinance was introduced for a first reading; the council did not take a final vote. If passed on third reading, the ordinance will become effective 30 days after that final reading, per the discussion at the meeting.
