At the April 21 meeting, Mr. Gasky (Planning & Zoning) told the council that Village zoning code already contains provisions related to sales of medical marijuana and asked the planning commission to review definitions and other code amendments.
"I'd like to make a motion, to have the planning commission review several zoning code amendments regarding the sales of of marijuana," Mr. Gasky said; the motion was seconded, and council voted to send the matter to the planning commission. Mr. Gasky said the commission will draft recommended language and that a public hearing will be scheduled once recommendations are ready.
The council did not take final action on code language or regulatory changes at this meeting; the transcript records that the issue will proceed through the planning commission and a public notice and hearing before returning to council for possible adoption.
