Hampton City Schools reports October financials; revenues and expenditures on pace

Michael Thornton presented the division's operating figures: operating revenues through October were reported as $328,900,000, and expenditures and encumbrances through Oct. 31 totaled $105,100,000, representing 31.9% of the total operating expenditure budget for the fiscal year. Thornton said the division believes revenues and expenditures are on pace with budgeted expectations and that staff will continue monthly monitoring.
Thornton also said the finance team is preparing the budget for the next fiscal year and is awaiting release of the governor's budget, expected to be shared with the board at the January meeting. He invited board questions; none were raised in the record.
