Terrace Park authorizes Ohio River Foundation invasive-species removal at Miami Grove

The Village of Terrace Park council authorized an agreement with the Ohio River Foundation to remove invasive species from roughly one acre at Miami Grove.
A Buildings & Grounds committee representative (Speaker 5) summarized the proposal, which would be carried out by professionals under a grant and therefore impose no direct cost on the village. The contractor will cut invasive plants, apply herbicide at the roots using targeted application (the firm handles herbicide application and volunteers will not apply chemicals), and move cleared material to the parking lot for village environmental-services disposal.
Speaker 5 said the area is near the northwest corner of the parking lot and that if results are satisfactory after a year the village could consider funding continued work from the tree budget. The council introduced and adopted Resolution 2-3-2025 authorizing the village administrator to enter the agreement; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
Council asked clarifying questions about herbicide use and debris removal; staff said the contractor applies the herbicide and no village volunteers will be involved in spraying.
The project will proceed contingent on the executed agreement and scheduling with the Ohio River Foundation.
