Facilities staff updated the Property Management Committee on several ongoing county projects and operational items.
Facilities Director reported the Rutherford County Regional Forensic Center site work is approximately 60% complete, structural steel and decking are near 90% complete, and the general contractor had completed the first of four slab-on-grade pours. The project team anticipates the building will be "dried in" in 2026. Staff said there are currently no open change orders.
On courthouse security, staff presented language recommended by the Sheriff’s Department for a bags-and-purses policy for the judicial center and committee spaces. Commissioners voted to take the recommendation under advisement and forward it to the Public Safety Committee for further review and any policy decisions.
Staff also confirmed a public flag-raising and tour for the Forensic Center is scheduled (2:00–4:00 p.m.), with an EMS honor guard and musical performance noted by staff.
