Rutherford County seeks county-employee applicants for Benefits & Insurance Committee vacancy

Rutherford County announced openings on its Benefits & Insurance Committee, asking county-general employees enrolled in the county medical plan to apply.
Ed Elam said employees interested in serving must request an application from the Insurance and Risk Management Department (benefitsrutherfordcountytn.gov). "Applicants will need to submit their completed application and a letter of recommendation from their department head/elected official to the Insurance and Risk Management Department no later than 04:00 on Friday, January 23 and plan to attend the benefits and insurance committee meeting on 01/29/2026 at 01:00," Elam said.
Elam said an announcement email would be sent to department heads and elected officials and that applicants must be enrolled in the county medical plan. The committee will consider the expiring term and fill the vacancy at an upcoming insurance meeting; no vote or appointment occurred at the Dec. 18 meeting.
