Terrace Park council adopts 2025 appropriations ordinance and empowers CFO to revise 2024 budget

The Village of Terrace Park Council voted unanimously on Dec. 11, 2024, to adopt a 2025 final appropriations ordinance and to advance a resolution authorizing the chief fiscal officer to revise the 2024 appropriation budget, both adopted as emergency measures.

Finance chair Jeff LeMay, introducing the measures, said the council "intended to go forward with our budget" and that, "We've not made any changes to the best of my knowledge." LeMay described the 2024 adjustment as modest, saying it "represents less than 1 half of 1%" since the budget was created roughly 18 months earlier.

Council proceeded through a roll-call procedure and recorded unanimous 'Aye' votes to advance the third reading of the ordinance and to adopt the appropriation-resolution as an emergency. The council credited department staff, including the chief fiscal officer, for staying within budget during the year. LeMay thanked staff and department heads for their work in maintaining fiscal discipline.

The ordinance is identified in the meeting as ordinance 12-1-2024 (final appropriations); the adjustment resolution is identified as resolution 12-1-2024 to empower the chief fiscal officer to revise the 2024 appropriation budget. No additional spending increases were reported in the meeting; council members described the resolution as a technical adjustment rather than a change to the overall budget.

The measures passed with council votes recorded as unanimous 'Aye.' The council did not specify an effective date beyond adopting both as emergency measures during the Dec. 11 meeting. The council will proceed with implementation and any administrative revisions under the authority granted to the chief fiscal officer.
