Woodlawn council approves geotechnical services, final change order and several grants for road, sidewalk and demolition work

On Aug. 27 the Village of Woodlawn council approved multiple items related to infrastructure projects and grants.
Council passed resolution 27-20-24 authorizing the municipal manager to enter a contract with CT Consultants for additional geotechnical services on the Leacrest Road Improvements project after subsurface conditions required more testing. The law director said additional geotechnical work was needed beyond normal engineering services.
Council also approved resolution 28-20-24, the final change order for the Ronnie Road and Woodstock Drive improvement projects. Village staff clarified the change order pertains to work done at Mayview Forest connected to Cincinnati Water Works and is reimbursable; it does not include unrelated repair items discussed earlier.
During his report, Manager Tim Engle said the village received a $50,000 demolition grant for properties on Springfield Pike and has ordered a chipper with county grant funds (60'90 days delivery) to support leaf and brush pickup. The village also received a community revitalization grant from Hamilton County valued at over $279,000 to construct a parking lot on Taponic Terrace to accommodate food trucks and support nearby businesses.
What happens next: staff will execute the geotechnical contract, process the final change order closeout, schedule demolition activities and begin the parking-lot project in coordination with grant requirements and contractors.
