At its December meeting the Mooresville Redevelopment Commission approved claims totaling $506,468.50, with one parks‑related CTC warranty bond item held contingent on legal review.
Staff identified a parks department claim of $433,461.59 tied to a gifted building that awaits state approval for demolition. Commissioners discussed a $900 invoice for an un‑authorized seventh mow under a six‑mow contract; while the mow was outside the original contract, commissioners noted the work had been done and moved to include payment with stronger contract language recommended for next year.
The commission also authorized execution of a letter with Indiana Southern Railroad concerning an underground sewer pipeline occupying the public right‑of‑way. Counsel (Don Williams with Barnes & Thornburg) and staff reviewed the draft and recommended execution; the commission approved it by voice vote.
Staff provided an update on the Main Street project: a preconstruction meeting occurred with contractors and utility representatives (Indiana American), and staff described local outreach to downtown businesses including flyers, meetings and a planned website Q&A on the town’s website under the "Main in Motion" tab. Commissioners emphasized the need to support businesses during construction and discussed keeping street fairs downtown where feasible.
The commission approved the 2026 meeting calendar with a modification moving January’s meeting from Jan. 5 to Jan. 7. The meeting adjourned following brief holiday remarks and community announcements.
