"We're spending just under 300 now to replace the chassis," the council member said during discussion. Mayor (unnamed) thanked staff and said, "I feel very, very comfortable in spending that money."
Officials discussed timing and interim coverage while the chassis is refurbished. Chief Maggard said he has contacted neighboring departments in Milford and Montgomery and that departments sometimes provide a loaner vehicle; firm arrangements depend on the vendor schedule. Council noted the chassis work for the village vehicle will not occur until June (per staff timeline), and that loaner or rental options would be finalized closer to that date.
