"We will get out of the water line business as soon as we can," Teppi said, describing the village’s limited capacity to maintain water infrastructure long term. He added that discussions with Indian Hill and Cincinnati Water Works were productive and that both providers will supply cost data for comparison. Council members questioned PFAS regulatory timelines; speakers referenced possible compliance dates around 2037 or 2040 but said the dates had shifted.
No formal decision was made at the meeting. Teppi said additional analysis is required to compare the providers’ proposals and to understand potential impacts on rates and capital financing. The council will consider any formal proposal only after staff and the providers deliver the requested cost and timeline information.
