Planning Commission approves multiple zoning and PUD items, postpones one to Jan. 8, 2026

The Norman Planning Commission approved a series of land‑use items and handled a requested postponement during its meeting.

On the consent docket the commission approved minutes and a certificate of survey for Fisher Acres 2 (61.61 acres in Ward 5). The commission then read and granted a postponement for Item 7 (Ordinance O-2526-27 concerning a replat and rezoning in Westport Professional Park) to the Jan. 8, 2026 Planning Commission meeting after an applicant request.

Among the items the commission approved were: - Alpha Phi special use (Ordinance O-2526-13) to grant a fraternity/sorority house use at 1401 College Avenue (Ward 7). Planning staff and the applicant said the house already exists and the application brings zoning into compliance. - Rezoning and preliminary plat for 3400 Classen Boulevard (Ordinance O-2526-18 and PP-2526-10). Staff noted a single protest and transportation staff said any request for a traffic signal would require a separate warrant study and coordination with ODOT. - Amendment to the Mission Norman PUD (Ordinance O-2526-24) to update the site plan, add transitional housing duplexes, playgrounds and a community garden. - North Business Park PUD site‑plan amendment and a request to close specific 15‑foot utility easements (Ordinances O-2526-25 and O-2526-26); staff said waterline easement reservations will be required while new lines are installed.

Motions on the agenda items were moved, seconded and carried by the commission, with several recorded 6-0 votes. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about parking, signal warrants, concrete reuse and phasing; staff and applicants answered that many construction details will be determined during permitting.

The chair closed the meeting with seasonal remarks and adjourned.
