The New Milford Public School District Board of Education on Monday approved a package of consent items and a personnel slate and then voted to enter closed session for personnel and student matters.
Board President Gomez called for approval of multiple grouped agenda items, including minutes and curriculum and program recommendations, with routine voice votes. When the personnel slate (P 25–26.52 through P 25–26.60) was presented, board members cast a roll-call vote. John Opel, Anthony Alvaro, Miss Calgaro, Mister Castro, Miss Carpenter, Mister Lombardi, Mister Luna, Miss Moore, Vice President Gunn and President Gomez were recorded as voting yes on the personnel recommendations.
Business Administrator Stephanie Pichar told the board the district is finalizing audit field work for 24–25 and preparing a recap of balances that will influence the 26–27 budget. She said the auditor is expected to present findings at the January meeting and that the timing of the audit affects decisions on how much to deposit into maintenance and capital reserves.
After routine approvals and public comment, the board voted to move into executive session under the Open Public Meetings Act to discuss personnel and student matters, with the board saying minutes of that executive session will be released when confidentiality is no longer required.
The meeting adjourned to closed session; further actions taken in executive session were not disclosed at the public session.
