Dublin Jerome athletes and staff honored for three Division I state championships

Dublin Jerome coaches and student-athletes were recognized at the board meeting for winning three Division I state titles (girls golf, boys golf and boys soccer), plus an individual golf champion; Golden Shamrock awards also honored two staff members.
The Dublin City Schools board honored a string of fall athletic accomplishments and staff service in its meeting.
Athletic Director Jay Schwanke introduced the district’s state champions: the girls golf team (led by CD Butcher), the boys golf team (led by Brad Sparling with assistant Chris Carlisle) and the 2025 Division I boys soccer state champions (coached by Nate Most). The presentations highlighted each team's path — league and sectional wins and the state tournament performances — and named standout players, including individual golf champion Brady Barnum.
Coaches and assistants emphasized player development, team culture and community support. Brad Sparling noted program records and college commitments for players; Nate Most and assistant Colin Berrigan described the soccer program’s growth and the historic nature of the state final win.
The board also presented Golden Shamrock awards, a long-running district recognition program. Renee Lake was honored for sustained paraprofessional service and student support at Chapman; Joshua Page, principal of Eli Penny Elementary, was recognized for leadership and school culture work.
No formal board action was required for the recognitions. The board applauded the students, coaches and staff and invited teams and seniors to be acknowledged publicly during the meeting.
