White Oak swears in a new officer and approves two conditional police hires; department gave November activity report

White Oak Borough welcomed newly sworn Officer Nathan Vorderberg during the Dec. 15 meeting and approved conditional offers of employment for two additional candidates.
Council members introduced Nathan Vorderberg after noting his background: he graduated Thomas Jefferson High School (2020), served five years in the U.S. Marines and graduated from the West [Mormon] County Community College Police Academy on Nov. 25, 2025. Council welcomed him to the department.
The council also approved conditional offers for Patrick Kennedy (final ranking No. 5 on the civil service certified list) and Bryce Rafferty (final ranking No. 6) to serve as entry-level police officers for the White Oak Borough Police Department; both motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Separately, the police department presented its November activity log to the council. The department reported alarm calls, warrant arrests, traffic stops and citations, vehicle accidents, domestic-related incidents, protection-from-abuse (PFA) orders served, welfare checks, animal complaints and other incident categories for the month. The department concluded the report and thanked the council.
