Resident tells White Oak council blight on Lincoln Way is 'beyond comprehension' and urges action

John Maria said properties between the borough border and 48 Lincoln Way include multiple junkyards and trailers, referencing a trailer ‘‘across the street from the gas station’’ and several trailers on Coulter Road and nearby Quarter Road. He said the problem ‘‘has been there for years’’ and ‘‘it's getting worse,’’ adding that prior complaints to borough staff had not produced results.
John Maria told the council he would volunteer if needed to help enforce ordinances and warned he would ‘‘come back with a bunch of people’’ if the borough did not act. In response, President Davis said the council is forming a committee to address the issue and that the borough is working on addressing blight concerns.
The exchange was part of the council's public-comment period; no formal action was taken at the meeting to require immediate remediation. The council later placed planning and enforcement items on the agenda for follow-up via committee work and staff coordination.
