South Euclid‑Lyndhurst launches formal strategic‑plan process with community outreach

The South Euclid‑Lyndhurst superintendent told the board Dec. 16 that a formal strategic‑planning process is now underway and that the district has partnered with Burgess and Burgess, an Ohio‑based firm, to develop a multi‑year plan. The superintendent said the work is funded from non‑general funds and will be rooted in stakeholder input.

Officials said 13 stakeholder interviews have already been completed and additional listening sessions for staff and the public are scheduled for January. A strategic plan committee that includes board representation, students, administrators, teachers and community members will begin meeting in February; an internal task force will analyze data and the district will issue a survey to gather broader community input.

The superintendent emphasized transparency and accountability, explaining that when goals are published online they will be tracked with status indicators — "complete" or "under construction" — and assigned timelines and responsible parties. "This plan will become a living document, not a binder that sits on a shelf," the superintendent said. Board members were asked to review the materials in the packet and expect regular updates as the process moves forward.
