Springville City Council members and staff formally honored Council member Craig Jensen at Tuesday’s meeting as he prepares to step down after eight years of service.
A staff presenter recounted Jensen’s role in advancing multiple planning and capital efforts, including the City Springs logo adoption, active transportation planning and public‑art initiatives, and thanked him for steady leadership during both celebratory and challenging moments. Jensen responded by thanking colleagues and staff and praising the community’s volunteer spirit: “I commend our community for the spirit of volunteerism,” he said.
Earlier in the meeting Jessica Maxwell, the library’s community health and wellness resource coordinator, presented awards to local youths Ella Martin and Ella Young for resilience, leadership and service to their peers. The council invited students and scouts to observe proceedings and asked for their participation during the ceremonial portion of the meeting.
No formal council action was required for the ceremonial recognitions.
