Woodlawn council approves budget amendment, façade grants and event permits; objects to liquor-permit renewal

Woodlawn — The Village of Woodlawn council on April 8 approved a package of budget and event measures, including an appropriations amendment and several resolutions to authorize event licenses and grants, and voted to object to a liquor-permit renewal.
Council passed Ordinance 062025, an amendment to appropriations for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2025, after a unanimous roll-call vote. The council also approved Resolution 072025 authorizing a temporary license agreement with Rolling for Hope Inc. for a special event, Resolution 082025 renewing liability coverage with the Public Entities Pool of Ohio for April 30, 2025–April 30, 2026, and Resolution 092025 allowing the municipal manager to enter a funding agreement with the Board of County Commissioners, Hamilton County, for a 2025 small-event grant to support Juneteenth activities.
The council also approved Resolution 102025, a joint grant-administration agreement for an economic-development façade-improvement program. Municipal Manager Tim told the council the village received a $50,000 Hamilton County grant and the village added $15,000, creating a $65,000 pool for façade improvements to be awarded to local businesses.
Finally, the council passed Resolution 112025, an objection to the renewal of a liquor permit for Borlow Promotions LLC (the business name is rendered inconsistently in the meeting record). Law Director Jim Dingle said the resolution was added out of caution and would be forwarded to the Ohio Division of Business Control.
All votes recorded during the evening were unanimous ‘‘Aye’’ on the listed items. No formal amendments to the ordinance or resolutions were recorded during the meeting. The council’s passage of the façade-grant authorization follows the county funding decisions that Municipal Manager Tim and Law Director Jim Dingle had earlier described.
The council did not debate the measures at length during the meeting and moved each to a roll-call vote after motions were made and seconded. The meeting record shows the clerk conducting standard roll-call votes for each item before the council adjourned.
