The Mount Healthy City Council used its final regular meeting of the year to adopt multiple ordinances related to compensation, the 2025 budget and standard year‑end housekeeping items.
Among the items adopted by roll call were: • Ordinance 24‑2054, setting compensation for elected and appointed full‑time employees — approved (recorded 6‑0). • Ordinance 24‑2055, the 2025 appropriations ordinance — adopted; staff noted a projected surplus of $57,000 for the coming year. • Ordinance 24‑2057, an amendment to the business code (section 155.032) to help manage unit occupancy and enforcement — approved by roll call.
Council also suspended the two‑reading rule and adopted emergency or supplemental budget items in single readings, including Ordinance 24‑2058 (2024 appropriation amendments to record grants and supplemental revenues) and Ordinance 24‑2059 (inter‑fund transfers and bond/fire fund supplements). During those votes council cited auditor timing and grant receipt as administrative reasons for single‑reading adoption.
Other actions and notes: • The council discussed, in first reading, a proposed code addition to authorize removal of dead or hazardous trees in the right‑of‑way as part of a tree‑grant effort; that ordinance remained at first reading. • Council accepted a $50,000 county façade grant for local business façade improvements that staff said will be administered through Third Century Mount Healthy.
What happens next: staff will implement adopted budget items, process grant awards, and prepare any required written notices associated with the single‑reading emergency ordinances. Council will revisit items left in first reading in a future meeting.
