Mount Healthy Branch Library opens; council previews Dec. 14 "Christmas in Mount Healthy"

Mt. Healthy — Library staff and councilmembers used the Nov. 5 meeting to highlight the newly opened Mount Healthy Branch Library and preview a host of holiday and community events planned for December.
"The library opened on Saturday, November 2. The ribbon cutting ceremony and the grand opening event was wonderful," said Miss Dosa, who encouraged residents to visit the new space and noted family-friendly activities and resources available for all ages.
Miss Dosa also outlined plans associated with the Dec. 14 "Christmas in Mount Healthy" event, including carriage rides, an ice-skating rink in the park, a skating-park apple-press demonstration and opportunities for children to make natural ornaments at the library. Ross Bittner volunteered to operate a 100-year-old apple press that will provide spiced apple cider during the event.
Mayor Miss Moody said the city is coordinating a corner holiday tree near the library and exploring low-power display lighting; she also reported community programs including a food pantry Thanksgiving meal giveaway with about 175 sign-ups and free blood-pressure and vision screenings.
Council members urged residents to look for event updates online and through the city website and noted the library and parks departments are collaborating on seasonal programming.
