Sarah Wilson, the new superintendent of Mount Healthy City School District, introduced herself at the city council meeting and described the start of her tenure as a 'rebuilding year.' Wilson said she began the role on Aug. 1 and that the district had completed its first quarter and was beginning the second.
Wilson told council the district's financial recovery plan was approved by the state after about 13 months of work and that the approval gives administrators confidence they are headed in a positive direction. She offered to meet with council members individually to discuss district concerns and left a fact sheet for council and staff.
Council members responded positively. One council member said they had met with Wilson and were hopeful given changes already underway. Wilson also promoted upcoming school events, including a Friday-night activity at the football field and community outreach opportunities.
Wilson's remarks focused on operations and outreach; there was no formal request for council action recorded during the public presentation.
