Community Development Director Adam Fatemi briefed the committee on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) process and the committee's role in selecting one member to serve on the city's budget-review committee. Fatemi said the grant pot historically totals about $45,000 and that the committee's representative participates with a Beaches, Parks and Recreation commissioner, a council representative and staff to review applications and recommend allocations.
Several committee members volunteered; the committee chose Stuart to serve as its representative for the coming year. Stuart will join the budget-review committee alongside a BPR representative and city staff when applications are evaluated.
